A holding company — est. 2016
We build businesses meant to outlast the trends that created them.
KVIAZ creates, acquires, and operates digital companies across publishing, artificial intelligence, commerce, and media. We hold what we build — there is no exit built into the plan.
How we operate
Three commitments that don't change with the market.
Permanent capital
We don't raise funds with a maturity date. Capital committed to a company stays with it — through slow years as well as good ones.
Operating autonomy
Each company keeps its own name, its own team, and its own product decisions. We do not centralize brands or force cross-selling.
Long-cycle judgment
We measure decisions in years, not quarters, and we're comfortable being unremarkable in the interim while a business compounds.
Where we operate
Four sectors, chosen on purpose.
Publishing
Independent editorial brands with a direct relationship to their readers, not a platform's algorithm.
Artificial Intelligence
Applied AI products built for one narrow, durable job each — not general-purpose demos.
Commerce
Category-specific commerce businesses with real inventory, real logistics, and margin discipline.
Media
Audio and film properties built around a single format or voice, not a content mill.
The registry
A sample of the companies we hold.
"We don't buy companies to sell them again. We buy them because we intend to still be answering for them in twenty years."
Most institutional capital is built around an exit. Ours isn't. That single difference shapes every acquisition we make, every hire we approve, and every quarter we choose not to optimize for.

Notes on holding, not exiting.

The problem with growth at all costs
Why we turned down a term sheet that would have doubled Aperture Labs' burn rate in exchange for a growth number we didn't need.

Why we don't rebrand what we acquire
A brand a founder built over a decade is not raw material for our design system. On the cost of sameness across a registry.
